In The Word
Read Psalm 20, 21
Prayer for Victory over Enemies.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
20 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!
2 May He send you help from the sanctuary
And support you from Zion!
3 May He remember all your meal offerings
And find your burnt offering acceptable! Selah.
4 May He grant you your heart’s desire
And fulfill all your counsel!
5 We will sing for joy over your victory,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some boast in chariots and some in horses,
But we will boast in the name of the Lord, our God.
8 They have bowed down and fallen,
But we have risen and stood upright.
9 Save, O Lord;
May the King answer us in the day we call.

Walking In The Word
We serve an almighty God whose promises are “yes” and “amen.” A reminder for us all as we read through Psalm is that God’s truth and Word is full of promises that apply to our lives today and in our current situations. There are a few main themes we see in these two chapters: God saves, hears, responds, protects. It is important to remember these truths as the enemy would try to come and whisper the very opposite of these important truths. We must daily be on guard knowing the schemes of the enemy. Satan will lie or manipulate us so that he may steal, kill, and destroy us. But we also must remember that God has come to give us an abundant life in Him, and He works for our good when we love Him and are called according to His purposes.
Today you may find yourself in a situation where satan has lied to you or he has come into your mind with lies. Combat that today through the Word by quoting Psalm 21:11-13 out loud today believing that God will protect you. Maybe you feel like God doesn’t hear you or that He doesn’t answer you. Combat that today by speaking Psalm 20:6-9 over and over until it’s in your spirit. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word. Finally, rest assured as Psalm 22:7 proclaims to us that when we trust in the Lord and His loving-kindness, we will not be shaken! Don’t believe the lies anymore, but find faith and trust in God’s truth.
