There Is Someone That Can Help

In The Word

Read: Revelation 5

The Book with Seven Seals

I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a book written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the book or to look into it. Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it; and one of the elders *said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.”

And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they *sang a new song, saying,

“Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.

10 “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

Angels Exalt the Lamb

11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice,

“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.”

13 And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying,

“To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.”

14 And the four living creatures kept saying, “Amen.” And the elders fell down and worshiped.

Walking In The Word

Have you ever looked around at the world and realized that we, as mankind, are helpless to save ourselves? We are helpless to bring things back in order. It can be depressing and can cause one to weep and cry because of the hopelessness. You may be looking at your situation in your life and thinking there is no hope. Who can possibly turn these things around? Who can possibly bring about life, when all you see is death? Well, the answer to these questions, and to any more you have, is Jesus Christ our Lord; He’s the answer. He is the one that paid the price for you, me, and all those who would believe from all corners of the earth. He has made us His priests serving in His kingdom. We are a royal priesthood that He has set up to reign on the earth as a holy nation. What we need to do is stop looking around at what looks impossible and realize that nothing is impossible with Christ. By the way, if you were wondering if your prayers were being looked at by God, well, in this scripture, you see how they are being presented and attended to by God’s heavenly structural system. He hears your prayers and sees your life. We need a strong voice to loudly proclaim this to us; we need mature believers to shake us out of our pity party and wake us up to our victory party. Can I get an, “Amen”?

7 Days of Prayer & Fasting Devotional

Day Three Focus:
Breaking Free of the Chains of Bondage

Thought: This is the third day of your fast. Three is the number of resurrection. It’s Jubilee and all can be freed to return to their original families (Luke 4:18-19). The beggar (poor), the broken-hearted, the bound (captive), the blind and the bruised can now return to their original state. Jesus has paid the price of redemption for all to be free. Embrace your newly found freedom, the chains are broken and the things that have held you in bondage are removed. Stand up tall and face this day with a new perspective, a bold confidence that says, “If God Be For Me, Who Can Be Against Me.”

Scripture: “This is the kind of fast day I’m after: to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the workplace, free the oppressed, cancel debts. What I’m interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families. Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Your righteousness will pave your way. The God of glory will secure your passage. Then when you pray, God will answer. You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am.’”(Isaiah 58:6- 9 MSG)

Scripture References: John 11:42-44, Psalm 29:11, Psalm 27:14

Meditation: It is the truth that we know that will set us free. (John 8:32) What chains of bondage do you need to be free from?

TCI Prayer Points:

  • Pray for people to be healed in their body and soul.
  • Pray for people to be set free from the bondages they have been put in by Satan. (Pray for The Church United, prison ministry & Broken Chains)
