Read: Psalm 28-29
A Prayer for Help, and Praise for Its Answer.
A Psalm of David.
28 To You, O Lord, I call;
My rock, do not be deaf to me,
For if You are silent to me,
I will become like those who go down to the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to You for help,
When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.
3 Do not drag me away with the wicked
And with those who work iniquity,
Who speak peace with their neighbors,
While evil is in their hearts.
4 Requite them according to their work and according to the evil of their practices;
Requite them according to the deeds of their hands;
Repay them their recompense.
5 Because they do not regard the works of the Lord
Nor the deeds of His hands,
He will tear them down and not build them up.
6 Blessed be the Lord,
Because He has heard the voice of my supplication.
7 The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him.
8 The Lord is their strength,
And He is a saving defense to His anointed.
9 Save Your people and bless Your inheritance;
Be their shepherd also, and carry them forever.
The Voice of the Lord in the Storm.
A Psalm of David.
29 Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty,
Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in holy array.
3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters;
The God of glory thunders,
The Lord is over many waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful,
The voice of the Lord is majestic.
5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
Yes, the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,
And Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord hews out flames of fire.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord makes the deer to calve
And strips the forests bare;
And in His temple everything says, “Glory!”
10 The Lord sat as King at the flood;
Yes, the Lord sits as King forever.
11 The Lord will give strength to His people;
The Lord will bless His people with peace.

Walking In The Word
David was a man of prayer, a man who sought God in his distress and praised Him in his victories. He never wanted to stray from the path of God, even through suffering, but always wanted the Lord to guide his steps and be a light to his feet. He prayed with so much faith and praised God as though His prayers were answered. David believed in God’s protection and that nothing was impossible with God.
Praise according to the Scriptures is an act of our will that flows out of reverence for our Creator. It gives glory to God and opens us up to deeper union with Him even when we go through trials. Our trials never change God; they don’t make Him love us more or less because He is unchanging. He loved us whilst we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). Nothing can separate us from His love; trials make us understand the love of God even better. What we win with prayer, we must wear by praise and that brings glory to Yahshua.
The trials you are facing today are not there to destroy you but to draw you even closer to the One who is all knowing; He has plans to prosper you and give you hope. Remember that God makes no mistakes. Sometimes He allows hard situations to come our way so that His power may be seen in our lives. His timing is perfect.
