Read Psalm 146
The Lord an Abundant Helper.
Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
I will praise the Lord while I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
Do not trust in princes,
In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.
His spirit departs, he returns to the earth;
In that very day his thoughts perish.
How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
Who made heaven and earth,
The sea and all that is in them;
Who keeps faith forever;
Who executes justice for the oppressed;
Who gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets the prisoners free.
The Lord opens the eyes of the blind;
The Lord raises up those who are bowed down;
The Lord loves the righteous;
The Lord protects the strangers;
He supports the fatherless and the widow,
But He thwarts the way of the wicked.
The Lord will reign forever,
Your God, O Zion, to all generations.

Walking In The Word
Neither princes, kings, presidents, governors, mayors, nor any mortal man can bring about salvation. Salvation must come from God through Jesus Christ. David understood that his trust wasn’t to be in man, but completely in God. Verses seven through nine tell completely of what the Lord can do, and Jesus came and fulfilled all of these things as He walked the earth. Jesus even said this of Himself when questioned if he was the true Messiah in Matthew 11:5, “The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.”
Sometimes, in our lives, we may forget that the same supernatural power that came to us through salvation is the same power that can still work in us and on our behalf. It’s not like God ran out of power when He saved us, and now He has to go sit down and take a break for a while. Our God has more power than we can possibly comprehend in our own natural mind.
Maybe you’re dealing with a spouse acting ungodly, a difficult boss, a rude person, an unsaved child, or just a seemingly impossible situation. Don’t run to man in these situations, but search the scriptures and trust in God to take care of it. Do your part and know that God will work on your behalf because He loves the righteous.
