The Heart of God

In The Word

Read: Hebrews 13:1-8

The Changeless Christ

13 Let love of the brethren continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body. Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” so that we confidently say,

The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.
What will man do to me?”

Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Walking In The Word

Hebrews 13:1-2 (NASB) says, “Let love of the brethren continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.”

We are encouraged not only to show hospitality to the people we know, but also to strangers, because by doing so, the Lord is happy with what we do. We must remember those who are in prison and support them like we would love to be supported if we were in prison. Fornication and adultery leads us to being judged by the Lord because it is ungodly and should not be done at all if we want to always be in communion with Jesus.

Hebrews 3:5 (NASB) says, “Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, ‘I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.’” Money is one of the things that Jesus taught about many times in the Bible. The love of money changes people. It makes them greedy, ruthless, selfish, and heartless; the love of money drives them far away from the kingdom of God.

Do you have anyone you need to visit in prison? Have you been nice to strangers lately? Do this and touch the heart of God.
