In The Word
Read: John 14:25-15:8
25 “These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. 28 You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. 30 I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; 31 but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.
Jesus Is the Vine—Followers Are Branches
15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

Walking In The Word
Our Lord was teaching many things to the disciples. On their own, they could never remember, with the accuracy needed, to take Yahshua’s message to the world. Therefore, they needed help. The Holy Spirit would be the One who would perfectly bring to their remembrance all that was being taught. He would also give them peace that the world could not offer.
Satan would try and trip Christ up, but he could only be effective if there was something in a person to work with. There was nothing he could find in Christ to stir up. Yahshua tells the disciples that apart from Him they can do nothing. He commanded them to stay connected to Him by staying connected to His words, which the Holy Spirit would remind them of. This would cause them to bear good fruit. In doing so, the Father would be glorified and they would prove to the world that they were indeed disciples of Christ.
Have you ever thought about all the messages you have heard at church and all the scriptures you have read from the bible? In the natural, we could never recall them. However, by the Holy Spirit living in us, we have the help we need to recall the right teachings for the circumstance we find ourselves in. This allows us to walk in peace and be full of God, so that when Satan does come, he finds nothing in us. Only in Christ can we bear fruit and glorify our Father. Stay in the Word and in the fellowship of the Spirit every day and you will prove to be Yahshua’s disciples.
