He Can Take Care of It All

In The Word

Read: Psalm 144

Prayer for Rescue and Prosperity.

A Psalm of David.

144 Blessed be the Lord, my rock,
Who trains my hands for war,
And my fingers for battle;
My lovingkindness and my fortress,
My stronghold and my deliverer,
My shield and He in whom I take refuge,
Who subdues my people under me.
O Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him?
Or the son of man, that You think of him?
Man is like a mere breath;
His days are like a passing shadow.

Bow Your heavens, O Lord, and come down;
Touch the mountains, that they may smoke.
Flash forth lightning and scatter them;
Send out Your arrows and confuse them.
Stretch forth Your hand from on high;
Rescue me and deliver me out of great waters,
Out of the hand of aliens
Whose mouths speak deceit,
And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

I will sing a new song to You, O God;
Upon a harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You,
10 Who gives salvation to kings,
Who rescues David His servant from the evil sword.
11 Rescue me and deliver me out of the hand of aliens,
Whose mouth speaks deceit
And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

12 Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants,
And our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace;
13 Let our garners be full, furnishing every kind of produce,
And our flocks bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields;
14 Let our cattle bear
Without mishap and without loss,
Let there be no outcry in our streets!
15 How blessed are the people who are so situated;
How blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!

Walking In The Word

Most scholars believe the previous Psalms 140-143 were written by King David before his accession to the crown when he was being persecuted by King Saul. Psalm 144 is believed to have been written after he became king. What we can see through this knowledge is that he continued to trust in God. God had carried him through all of that persecution, and then King David was trusting God to be there for him and the people as well.

This type of faith isn’t just for David, but it is for us as well. Just like it is written and pondered on in verses 3-4 of how God would be concerned for us and think of us, I’m reminded of 1 John 3:1a, “See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are.” If you are born again, then you are a son or daughter of Christ our King!

Maybe there are attacks, trials, or storms happening in your life right now. Be encouraged as we are reminded today that God can strengthen us, protect us, rescue us, love us like no other, raise our children, and bless us. Don’t leave from your time with our Father today with doubt that He can take care of you. Have faith today and each day that He absolutely can and will take care of you as you walk according to His purposes. Ask anything according to His will, and it will be done!
