In The Word
Read: Revelation 12:1-9
12 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; 2 and she was pregnant and she *cried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth.
The Red Dragon, Satan
3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven crowns. 4 And his tail *swept away a third of the stars of heaven and hurled them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her Child.
The Male Child, Christ
5 And she gave birth to a Son, a male, who is going to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her Child was caught up to God and to His throne. 6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she *had a place prepared by God, so that there she would be nourished for 1,260 days.
The Angel, Michael
7 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, 8 and they did not prevail, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

Walking In The Word
Satan (the dragon, the devil) does not rule hell, but he will spend eternity in torment there. He was thrown down from Heaven because he tried to make himself equal with Almighty God. He was able to influence one third of the angels in Heaven, while they were in the physical presence of the glory of Almighty God, to rebel against God. He is a strong adversary, but not strong enough. There was no longer a place for them in Heaven. The devil and those rebellious angels were defeated and thrown down to this earth. One day, they will be bound and thrown down in hell, a place created for them to suffer punishment for all eternity.
There is none like You, O God! The only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ, came as a child, lived as a perfect man, showed us the way to Father, and then willingly laid down His life for you and me. He rose again and sits today at the right hand of the Father. He desires that none should perish. He wants us all to spend eternity with Him, not thrown down in the place created to torment the devil. We must be careful that we are not deceived by the enemy to put our will above God’s perfect will. Do you know someone that is deceived and headed for that place, eternity in hell? Will you allow the Lord to use you today as His mighty warrior to show forth His love, His truth, and His justice to all those around you?
